German pork schnitzel that’s ready in a pinch! Perfect and tasty meal for busy weeknights. The tender cutlets are pounded thinly and breaded resulting in a crispy exterior and a juicy center.
The first step of this recipe is the tenderization. Cover a cutting board with plastic wrap, place the cutlets over and then place another sheet of plastic wrap over. This will prevent splatter. Use a meat mallet (or other heavy object, like a skillet) to flatten the cutlets into 1/4″ thickness.
Prepare three shallow dishes or bowls with flour mixture, eggs/milk and bread crumbs. The set I have pictured below is from Pampered Chef. Love it!
Make sure that both sides are coated evenly with bread crumbs before proceeding.
Preheat air fryer to 370 degrees for 5-10 minutes. Then, place the cutlets in a layer at the base of the basket making sure that they don’t overlap. Cook 8 minutes and then flip. Continue frying until they are crispy and brown. Serve warm!
