Rice Krispie Chicks

Fun, tasty and easy seasonal activity to do with the kids before Easter! These are the perfect ratio of ooey gooey marshmallow with butter Rice Krispie cereal. These adorable no bake treats never last long at our house!

Equipment

  • 9 x 13 baking sheet
  • Cooking spray
  • Biscuit cutter

Ingredients
  

  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 10 oz mini-marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • yellow food coloring
  • orange frosting (store bought with the tip is the way to go).
  • candy eyes

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter and marshmallows in a microwave safe glass bowl in 30 second increments. Stir well.
  • Add the vanilla extract and food coloring. Give it a few quick stirs. Add cereal gradually until all is evenly coated and well combined.
  • Pour mixture in a greased 9 x 13 baking pan. Flatten evenly with a greased spatula and place in the refridgerator to chill for at least one hour.
  • Once chilled, use a biscuit cutter or other circular cookie cutter to make shapes. Set on a plate. Place a dot of frosting on the back of the candy eyes and place. Then, draw the beak and talons with frosting. Store in an airtight container. Enjoy and have fun!
