Sea Salt Caramel Apple Bark
This is one of my favorite and simple Fall treats that I have made for my family in the past seasons. Sweet, savory and incredibly easy.
- 1 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
- (1) 11 oz bag caramel baking bits
- 2 Granny Smith apples, cored and diced *Dry with paper towel to get rid of excess moisture*
- 2 cups pretzels
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
- flaky sea salt
Line a cookie sheet with wax/parchment paper. Pour chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and melt in 15-30 second increments, stirring between until the chocolate is smooth and completely melted.
Using a spatula, spread the melted chocolate in a rectangular shape over the parchment paper. You don't want it too thick or thin.
Place the pretzels over the melted chocolate. Pop in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
While the chocolate/pretzels are chilling, melt the caramel bits in a microwave safe bowl. Again, do this in 15-30 second increments until smooth. Add the apples into the bowl and mix well. Take the sheet pan out of the freezer and place the caramel apple mixture over.
Chill for another 15 minutes. Microwave the last 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and drizzle over the bark. Sprinkle with sea salt. Chill and cut into squares. Best served the day of. Enjoy!
